We are proud to represent a reputable 2-19 special school in SK23, dedicated to providing exceptional education and support for 82 pupils with a wide range of learning difficulties and diverse needs. Our school offers a nurturing environment where every child is valued, and we are equipped with comprehensive facilities to cater to their holistic development. With an on-site school nurse collaborating closely with visiting NHS staff, alongside dedicated therapy teams, we ensure that each pupil's physical, medical, and communication needs are met effectively.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking passionate Teaching Assistants to join the dedicated team at our client's SEND school. The role will involve supporting pupils on their developmental learning journey, which begins in Early Years and progresses through tailored pathways designed to meet their individual developmental, social, and academic needs. From assisting in therapeutic environments such as the hydrotherapy pool to providing classroom support, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people with SEND.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualised support to pupils across various age groups and abilities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals to deliver a holistic curriculum that fosters development and independence.
• Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies, promoting a positive learning environment.
• Support pupils during therapy sessions, including those in the hydrotherapy pool, and facilitate their participation in therapeutic activities.
• Foster positive relationships with pupils, encouraging their social interaction and engagement in learning.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly desirable.
• A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting the unique needs of each pupil.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external professionals.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in diverse settings and respond to the changing needs of pupils.
• Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or special needs support are advantageous.
