Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Emergency Department (ED) /Urgent treatment Centre (UTC) who is highly motivated to join the team as an autonomous practitioner!

You must be an innovative and hardworking person with a broad range of skills and experiences in emergency medicine and direct patient care. Interest in and experience of advanced or enhanced practice would be a great asset.

The Trainee Emergency practitioner role is an exciting opportunity for health care providers wishing to expand their scope of practice and develop into autonomous practice. You will be involved with a large range of multidisciplinary teams and active in research ongoing within the department.

It is a trainee post which will enable you to develop your scope of practice to become competent in assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with minor injuries and later illnesses in the UTC. This role encompasses treating adult and paediatric patients who present with a variety of minor injuries and illnesses who self present or are streamed to the UTC for treatment.

You must possess and be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills, willingness to learn and develop and a professional registration. We are seeking to appoint compassionate and caring people who will be able to work closely with the Senior Team to deliver outstanding care to patients within this very exciting and developing service.

This is a trainee role open to health care professionals with a minimum 5 years Emergency Department experience and a desirable 2 years of band 6 experience within the ED or advance practice in the community at the same band.

This is a developmental role starting at Band 6 with 6 months supervisory practice alongside completing the advanced assessment of minor injuries module. Then minimum a year consolidation and development into a competent and confident Band 7 Emergency practitioner, once deemed competent by the lead practitioner/clinical supervisor.

You must Provide Innovative, Clinical, professional, and managerial leadership , providing a highly visible and authoritative presence ensuring the provision of high quality, responsive services with the needs of the patient at the centre of care delivery.

Work in partnership with the Operations Manager and the Divisional Senior Management Team to ensure effective and efficient management of the department to meet agreed targets within the resources available.

Maintain a visible presence where patients, staff and visitors can turn for assistance and upon whom they can rely to ensure that the fundamental and specialist aspects of care are met.

A welcome subsidy of £1000 is available to all Band 5 and Band 6 Nurses, Midwives, ODPs and Radiographers taking up substantive employment with the Trust.
