Summary


An exciting and rare secondment opportunity has arisen for the Assistant Health Records Manager at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

The post holder will be in operational charge of the Health Records department and will provide leadership, organisation and management for all Health Records staff to ensure that health records are available at the point of need and managed in line with local and national requirements.

Line manage own team in line with appropriate policies, procedures, working practices and guidelines, ensuring all resources are deployed to maximise an efficient and effective delivery of support services to patients and users. Liaise and negotiate with external agencies, suppliers and contractors ensuring delivery of service is in line with agreed contracts.

The Assistant Health Records Manager is responsible for the effective and appropriate management of complex information produced and which may require analysis, received, by the Trust irrespective of the medium in which it exists. This is to be achieved by:
• Proactively developing and supporting a culture of high quality records management practice across the Trust to support the delivery of the strategic objectives.
• To maintain and develop Trust Policies and guidance on the use of Health Records throughout all services within the Trust.
• To provide training and support to the appropriate Health Records staff in the use of the paper casenotes and EDM systems, including registration onto the system and housekeeping of registered users.
• To act as Governance representative/link with identified service lines.
• Liaise with system suppliers in order to ensure any concerns are raised and actioned in a timely way.
• Ensure key performance indicators are consistently achieved and teams within the Health Records department are managed to delivery targets and key service requirement.
• Facilitate and support change management and workforce re-design.
• Work with clinicians, other managers and staff to continuously improve the quality and timeliness of services in order to enhance the patients/users experience.
• Monitoring of exception reports and audits on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
