This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the specialist palliative care team at
NWAFT : influencing the holistic care of patients and carers with palliative end of life and specialist palliative care needs across NWAFT Hospital sites and the local community. The post includes supporting the delivery of a specialist palliative services across NWAFT Hospitals and the local community.

This vacancy could be opened to a band 6 Development role

You will need to have an excellent knowledge of symptom control for patients with
end of life malignant or non-malignant care needs and have experience of caseload
management and key working specialist palliative care patients.
The job will involve the education and training of other health professionals
regarding end of life and specialist palliative care across both the acute hospital and
local community. The successful applicants will need to be proactively involved in
audit and clinical governance regarding end of life and specialist palliative care.
You will need to be enthusiastic, adaptable to change and have a real passion for
delivering and implementing excellent standards of Specialist palliative care across
both areas of practice, though this post will be primarily community based across our
large rural and semi urban region; candidates will be required to be mobile and have
their own vehicle.
All Nursing and Allied Health professional roles within the Team are rotational and
candidates may also be asked to work in the Hospital setting depending on service
and patient need.
The successful candidate may be an experienced Palliative care Nurse looking to
develop their career further: for the right candidate this role could be offered at Band
6 as an exciting development opportunity leading to the Clinical Specialist Role when
the essential criteria and competencies are achieved.
