Summary

Hours: 8 hours per week including weekends (term time only)

Sophia is a gorgeous 8-year-old little girl. She is non- verbal and communicates with movement and will lead you by hand to her wants and needs. Sophia attends Northern Counties school and is doing well in this environment. Sophia has a genetic condition that can cause heart and bowel issues but at present this is not presenting any issues. She is Autistic and has Global Developmental Delay. Sophia has the potential to have seizures however this is minimal at present.

Sophia is very sensory and loves to be in water or playing with water as it helps to regulate her emotions. She enjoys listening to music and is obsessed with Mario the Movie with Princess Peaches and will sit rewinding this movie to rewatch her favourite clips.

Sophia can be self-injurious sometimes biting herself or banging her head, but this is when she has been overly stimulated or emotional. She likes the Alan Shearer Centre and anywhere that has Sensory toys for her to play with. Swimming is one of the things Sophia would like to explore in the future. Sophia loves animals and like to visit the farms and help feed the animals.

We are looking for a Personal Assistant to join a small team who can work on their own or on a 2:1 basis if needed. Experience of working with children with extra needs is essential. As Sophia’s PA you will assist in personal care and social activities.

Full clean UK driving licence is preferred for this role.
