About the service user:
I am 33 years old and have quadriplegic cerebral palsy that affect all four limbs. I am a full-time wheelchair user and need to use a hoist for all transfers. I have a good sense of humour, easy going with a goal of independence. I am also a sit-down/stand-up comedian so some of the shift will include late nights. I leave independently in Cambourne, Cambridgeshire, with an adorable cat. I like going to watch comedy shows, movies and music gigs. Having an active social life is really important to me.
Hours and Rate of Pay:
Up to 20 hours a week (including late nights) + at least one weekend a month.£12-15 negotiable, depending on qualification and experience. Qualification not needed; training provided. An Enhanced DBS check will be required.
What you would be doing:
You will be required to give assistance with personal care (toileting and shower needs), meal preparation and general housekeeping duties. You will also be required to help me with shopping, socialising and generally being independent. You would be required for overnight stay (weekends) once a month. Ideally, driver with a clean driving licence for insurance purposes (Motability van).
The Person I Would Like:
Has a good sense of humour and likes comedy. Is flexible and with an open-minded attitude. Is encouraging with helping me to be independent. Must be open to work late night/overnight. Can drive my motability van.
