About the service user
D is a happy go lucky young man, he has a learning disability and would like to become more independent.D enjoys football & is a Cambridge United supporter, he is interested in most sports including formula 1.D likes to have a plan of where he is going and what he is doing.
Hours and rate of Pay
6 hours per week on a Saturday or Sunday to be discussed. £11.68 per hour.Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
What you would be doing
Support D with life skills to enhance independence such as learning to use buses, buying items in shops or paying for activities using a bank card to gain an understanding of money.To increase Ds awareness of risk when in the community, risk form vehicles and other people.Accompanying D to Cadmus at Cambridge Sports Centre & other activities such as bowling or to a football match.
The person I would like
Someone who will promote independence and has a genuine interest in the provision of high quality support.Someone who can drive, has access to their own vehicle and is happy to use it for work purposes, mileage money will be paid.It is essential that you have a caring & positive nature, someone with a fun imagination who will get the most out of activities and time spent together.You will be a good communicator D likes to chat but is not so keen on instigating conversation.You will need to be reliable and possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding in the role.
