**Community Support Worker Cambridge CB23**
**£12 per hour**
About the service user Family looking for support for their 5 year old son who has learning disabilities, he is Autistic, non verbal, has sensory processing and avoidant restrictive food intake disorders, he has a PEG in situ.
J loves to be outside going for walks, playing in the park and enjoys swimming too.
Hours and rate of Pay
Ideally 5hrs every other Saturday paid at £12 per hour.
Enhanced DBS clearance is required
What you would be doing Supporting J to access the activities he enjoys.
Support to boost confidence in social situations & promoting general communication skills with others.
Some support may be required to change Js nappy and getting dressed, shoes on etc.,
J can display disruptive behaviour particularly around loud noises children shouting/babies crying, you will need to learn techniques to deal with this.
The person I would like If you have experience of supporting others with learning disabilities in the community that would be great but not essential if you have some knowledge of the difficulties learning disabilities can bring either from a family member or a friend. A willingness to learn is essential though.
In this role it is important to work with J, to build trust and understanding. You will be someone who is willing to be interactive and encouraging in order to improve and develop skills. Someone who is reliable and can demonstrate commitment to the role.
Clear spoken English is important to aid communication.
It is vital you are focused as J requires constant supervision, as well as being physically fit in order to keep up with J, he can run in certain situations.
