Please note: Due to the nature of the service and requirements of the people that we support, this role is open to female candidates only and as such is exempt from the Equality Act 2010. We have now filled our non-driving roles at the service. You will need to have a Full UK Driving Licence.

Holding a full UK driving licence is preferred due to the requirements of the role.

You'll have a passion for developing a team of staff to deliver an excellent experience for our customers, that's the people we all work hard to support. At mirus we'll help to develop your potential by joining our Aspiring Managers Programme, where we provide bespoke training and you can achieve a qualification.

You will be supporting your Team Manager in delivering key goals. You take pride in leading within the services you will work by supporting with daily challenges, always ensuring the team delivers a great range of choices and a customer experience that any person supported would want for within a health and social care environment. mirus is a not-for-profit charitable organisation, working in partnership with the people they support, their families and other partners, to deliver high quality, person-centred support services for people with a disability. We have been supporting people in Wales for over 35 years and currently support over 350 people in ten different local authority areas.

Key deliverables:

Has the ability to contribute to providing a high quality service and have a strong vision that can be applied to all aspects of your work.
Maintains professional working relationships with People We Support, families, members of Multi-Disciplinary Teams and other stakeholders.
Develops and adopts a person-centred approach to services and identifies individual goals and aspirations that enables the achievement of positive outcomes and increased independence.
Is confident and strong; can lead, direct and role model best practice to support staff to develop independence, develop skills and promote positive risk taking.
Can harness the skills and abilities of support staff to support them with their learning and development to fulfil their roles and responsibilities with a sense of achievement.
Communicates effectively and has good oral and written communication skills ensuring accurate records are kept.
Is able to manage their work time effectively and prioritise their workload whilst being flexible to adapt when necessary.
Is able to monitor and quality assure support services.
Essential requirements:

To be registered with Social Care Wales.
To have completed or in the process of completing QCF level 2 in Health and Social Care.
To have experience of using IT systems to ensure effective communication and planning.
Able to demonstrate experience in Health and Social Care
Due to the requirements of the role, the successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check funded by mirus.
