To be a highly visible and proactive leader acting as a clinical resource and ensuring the sustained delivery of high standards of nursing care and service delivery.

To be responsible for the quality of the patient’s environment and lead on facilitating changes which improve the patient’s experience.

To play a key operational role and maintain a proactive approach to managing patient flow through the service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated nurse to work in the Emergency Department. We are looking for an experienced and motivated leader who is enthusiastic about delivering excellent care to our patient group and has the motivation to build and drive the service forward.

St Georges Emergency Department is situated in Tooting Southwest London and serves a diverse population up to 160,000 patients a year.

Our department has undergone a massive transformation and expansion in the last few years, to include designation as a Major Trauma Centre with an 8 bedded resuscitation and helipad, Hyper acute stroke Centre, and a Children’s and young person’s unit (CYPED) which includes a Paediatric Assessment Unit. In late 2022 we opened our newly built Urgent Treatment Centre, which works closely with the Enhanced Primary Care Hub (EPCH) at Queen Mary’s Hospital.

We are one of the country’s largest and busiest acute NHS Trusts, serving a diverse population of more than 3.5 million people across south London and beyond.

Our main hospital site in Tooting and other healthcare locations provide a modern, dynamic, caring environment for excellent clinical care, education and research.

We employ around 10,000 dedicated staff across more than 40 different services and specialties. Every day, more than 2,000 patients attend our sites, mainly for outpatient appointments, elective surgery, and in our Emergency Department, was made famous as the home of ’24 Hours in A&E’.

You can find opportunities in a wide range of occupations and professions, from front-line doctors and nurses through to other health professionals, and essential support and corporate services – all working together to provide outstanding care every time for patients, and the communities we serve.
