Summary


The service at the Grahame Hayton Unit provides high quality, comprehensive services for people living with HIV with the aim of empowerment, allowing people to live well. The service has a strong focus on interdisciplinary teamwork, where many patients are co-managed via a wider multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join our friendly and hardworking nursing team who would like a challenge within the field of HIV. This opportunity will provide the selected individual with the opportunity to develop their competencies as a band 5 and gain a strong set of skills within the field of HIV, which will allow for further development.

The Grahame Hayton Unit offers a variety of opportunities and development including;

• A structured competency sign off pathway for band 5 nurses to meet the demands of the service.

To be a member of the nursing clinical management team to implement quality and compassionate out-patient care within a multi-disciplinary environment. This will involve taking on regular “in-charge” duty shifts.

To provide high quality nursing care to patients and their families, in accordance with agreed policies and protocols.

To supervise, teach and mentor junior staff members and students whilst maintaining their own professional and personal development.

To be a safe, knowledgeable, effective, and clinically competent practitioner.
