Summary

Jewish Care is a leading provider of care services, committed to providing a home for 540 individuals across our 10 care homes. Our aim is to support residents in achieving optimum wellbeing, independence, and fulfilment.

We are seeking an exceptional and experienced individual to join us as a Peripatetic Registered Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract to support our residential care and nursing homes.

As our Peripatetic Registered Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high standards of care, and fostering a positive customer experience.

What you will be doing:
  • Providing visionary leadership aligned with Jewish Care’s values and strategic objectives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and achieving ‘good’ or above ratings in CQC criteria.
  • Establishing and maintaining good standards of care and clinical practice, including links with external healthcare agencies.
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing levels and facilitating staff training and development.
  • Implementing monitoring mechanisms to ensure safety and quality standards, and optimising financial performance.
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders and maintaining the physical environment of the home.
  • Establishing positive links with the local and Jewish community to enhance residents' wellbeing.
What you will need:
  • RMA / NVQ 4 / ILM 5, or Registered nurse qualification (Essential)
  • Training or qualification in dementia care (Desirable)
  • Training or qualification in care for older people and/or End of Life care (Desirable)
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and senior management experience (Essential)
  • Proven experience managing a large care/nursing home or similar environment (Essential)
  • Record of achieving high standards preferably via CQC inspection reports (Essential)
  • Ability to handle complex issues successfully (Essential)
  • Business management experience within a large organization (Essential)
  • Experience working with and managing volunteers (Essential)
  • Experience introducing successful change in a multi-disciplinary care setting (Essential)
  • Good understanding of social care and regulatory systems (Essential)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of issues in care for older people, including dementia and end-of-life care (Essential)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and DOLS (Essential)
  • Understanding of clinical governance, auditing, and quality assurance (Essential)
