employment and skills team, and CLIP, an education provider.




Your role is all about enabling people within the communities in which we operate to feel safe and secure in their homes and
neighborhoods. You will work effectively with stakeholders to take a coordinated approach in achieving this outcome. You’ll be
able to make a significant difference to the lives of our customers and those in our neighbourhoods – it’s a role with a real
difference!




As a Safer Communities Officer, a typical day might include:

* Managing cases of anti-social behaviour (ASB)
* Interviewing victims and perpetrators
* Ensuring case management systems are up to date with accurate information
* Assessing risk and making appropriate referrals to agencies and services such as Supporting Foundations and Adult Social Care
* Gathering and reviewing diary sheets, noise monitoring, CCTV and any other evidence
* Working within relevant policies and procedures, making decisions and taking appropriate and proportionate actions to drive
cases forward to resolution
* Writing professional statements
* When necessary, preparing and presenting cases at court with support of our legal team




Some of the experience/skills we need to consider you:

* A good standard of education (minimum NVQ 2 numeracy and literacy, or equivalent)
* An understanding of antisocial behavior and housing legislation, including recent case law
* A track record of successfully managing antisocial behavior and using different initiatives and tools to achieve successful
outcomes
* Excellent report writing and statement taking skills
* You’ll be organised, with the ability to keep paper and electronic systems up to date with accurate records.
* Experience in a similar role, ideally within housing or a related field
* You’re able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and are able to effectively manage confrontation and
difficult conversations.
* You’re experienced at working with vulnerable people and victims of crime including domestic abuse.
* Building and maintaining strong working relationships with partner agencies with be something you’re experienced and skilled at
and you’ll have examples of how you’ve worked effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels.
* You’re organized and used to managing your time effectively and working to deadlines.
* The role can be very demanding – so you’re cool and calm under pressure and able to prioritise your workload while delivering a
great service to our customers.
* You will be required to make decisions of varying complexity on a daily basis. You have the confidence and experience to make
difficult decisions having considered all options and outcomes.
* You’ve got good IT skills –experience of using a case management system and a good knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must.
* Supporting our customers is at the heart of what we do. Knowledge of local support services is important.

customers’ lives.



What will make you stand out from the crowd:

* Experience of working with Orchard housing system and in particular the Community Action Solution (CAS) module would be great.
* A qualification in a related field would also be advantageous, such as BTEC in ASB case working.
* You’ll be adept at change, having got hands on experience living and breathing new ways of working and knowing how to bring
your colleagues along for the experience.
