Summary
We are looking for committed and dynamic nurses with excellent communication skills for the Derwent Ward with a desire and passion to work with people, getting it right for patients and their families.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate willingness and capability to work flexibly with a commitment to excellent team working that is absolutely essential during potentially stressful and challenging situations.
Minimum of 19 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8.00am - 18:00 pm. No Public Bank holidays or weekends
This role requires UK NMC Registration
Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital
Interview Date: TBC
• To support the Trust strategy of delivering a safe and effective quality patient centred healthcare service for patients and their families/carers.
• To co-ordinate patient care through the outpatient pathway.
• Work as a member of the orthopaedic outpatient nursing team alongside colleagues from the wider multidisciplinary team managing the care of patients from point of admission through to discharge, to include provision of post discharge services as required.
• To work within and to support the Trust, directorate and nursing objectives alongside the agreed ward standards.
• To identify, manage and appropriately escalate concerns
• To supervise and direct junior staff and students, and to act as a resource, providing education, support and training.
• Comply with NMC Code of Professional Conduct
• Understand and uphold the principle of Clinical Governance

There is a planned move for this service during Autumn 2025 , when this role and base of work may relocate to Poole Hospital site. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the post holder’s home and work base will be classified as a commute. Any other changes unrelated to this, will be handled in line with Trust/National terms and conditions.
