Summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is the world’s first Hospital dedicated to cancer diagnosis, treatment, research, and education. The Trust has a track record of high data quality and uses data in all aspects of delivering high quality care, including planning, performance monitoring, service improvements and research.

Managing the Trust data quality team and function, you will work closely with clinical, managerial, and operational colleagues to enhance data acquisition processes, improve data quality and completeness, and to help design processes to embed good data practice and awareness within operational teams.

Following the implementation of a new digital health record, Epic, in March 2023 this new role has been established to help bring greater governance and focus to data assurance as the Trust continues to develop its use of data and digital technology.

The Royal Marsden and Great Ormond Street share a clinical system, so there will also be the opportunity to work with data assurance colleagues at Great Ormond Street hospital to share best practices and agree on priorities across both organisations.

This is a real opportunity to help champion the way the Trust improves the overall management of data, whether operational, clinical or research. If this sounds like a challenge you’d enjoy, we’d like to hear from you.

The post holder has responsibility for ensuring the Trust has appropriate standards, systems, processes and training in place to ensure highly quality, complete and accurate data is available to meet all analytical, research and corporate needs of the Trust.

The post holder also has responsibility for designing and embedding a data quality framework to ensure appropriate monitoring and management of Trust data collection, transformation and processing against these standards. They will regularly monitor data quality and provide interpretation and summarisation of any identified issues or concerns to stakeholders, and data owners.
