Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Business Intelligence team as a BI Analyst on a 9 month fixed-term basis. This is a band 6 post providing maternity cover in the BI Support Squad playing a pivotal role in what is the ‘engine-house’ of the BI department, providing both regular and ad-hoc information requests in a fast-paced environment. This will include, but not limited to, submitting national data returns, supporting Trust staff with ad-hoc and routine information requests and reporting requirements as well as responding to external Freedom of Information requests. The successful applicant will have good SQL skills and experience with applications such as SSMS, SSRS, Excel and Power BI. This BI Analyst role will also have the added responsibility of mentoring a more Junior BI Support Analyst role.
• Interprets complex data from source systems and develops data structures to support reporting.
• Leads on the supervision of data and reporting processes – support and mentor Junior analysts within the team.
• Manages own workload using Service Desk plus with minimal supervision.
• Works cooperatively within the BI Team to cover a shared workload in supporting and maintaining existing reporting, including time-critical requirements.
• Works independently on the development and innovation of new reporting solutions.
• Uses a good understanding of NHS reporting to deliver both nationally prescribed and locally agreed requirements in the hospital Trust.
• Is able to use a flexible approach to absorb unplanned reporting tasks.
