Summary
JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
The Delivery Team leads on the delivery of innovative projects to deliver patient impact in the region. This includes working with
local organisations to enable the adoption and spread of national projects with a proven evidence base, additional projects that
we have been commissioned to undertake and the development and management of projects carefully selected to support the local
healthcare system, with a view to scaling the most effective solutions. The delivery team, through our NHSE and OLS contracts, are
currently working on innovations within mental health, CVD, wound care, tech enabled care, Health Inequalities and a large
evaluation portfolio.
The Advisor role will be the lead for several projects and will provide project management expertise to ensure successful project
delivery with measurable outcomes. The post holder will be expected to undertake project management activities to ensure
compliance with corporate and organisational requirements for project delivery and achievement of the desired outcomes for each
programme / portfolio.
It is essential that the post holder has a good understanding of the challenges faced in healthcare and how we can address them
most effectively. The post holder will need to demonstrate the following experience and knowledge:
* Have experience in developing, coordinating, and delivering projects on behalf of health and care clients in the region
* A strong track record of delivering change from start to finish using continuous improvement, organisational development,
strategic development and transformation methodologies.
* Extensive knowledge of the NHS (local, regional and national).
Given the range of projects, and the pace of delivery the post would suit someone who enjoys working on different types of
projects with a focus on implementation.
The post-holder will be required to:
* Show adaptability to different types of work.
* Design and execute project delivery plans.
* Utilise theories of implementation / innovation adoption
* Engage with project stakeholders and demonstrate an ability to build excellent working relationships
* Monitor timely project progress and ensure successful completion of projects
* Ensure findings are communicated locally and nationally through an agreed communications strategy
* Track progress of ongoing service improvements to agreed timescales and produce monthly highlight reports
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure projects are managed effectively, leading their successful delivery from start through to completion
* Ensure that assigned multiple projects deliver an effective transformational support service to the Eastern region
* Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed milestones
* Build and nurture relationships with NHS stakeholders to support the successful delivery of projects
* Participate in relevant local working groups and project meetings, to provide information, record discussions and capture key
actions
* Track actions from the project groups and work-stream meetings, ensuring there are systems in place to ensure completion
* Monitor progress and produce regular project reports and updates for national, regional and local governance mechanisms
* Support Senior Advisors, ensuring that project risks and issues are proactively identified and reported, and developing
proposals for resolution, mitigation and escalation of those risks
* Work with the Health Innovation East Programme Management Office to ensure effective and timely financial and performance
reporting
* Liaise with other members of Health Innovation East and the wider Health Innovation Network to share best practice
* Ensure the work undertaken aligns to relevant national guidance and best practice, including NICE clinical guidance
* Work closely with the local teams, both face to face and virtually, to share knowledge and motivate sites on to report progress
and deliver projects
* Work with senior colleagues to scope and procure independent evaluations and manage them through to delivery on time and within
budget.
Regardless of the project, the following core responsibilities will apply:
* Writing monthly internal highlight reports.
* Maintaining and updating project plans (including key milestones, risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies) and escalating
concerns to the programme manager as appropriate.
* Developing excellent working relationships with the client and other external stakeholders as required.

Qualifications and
training
Educated to degree level (any discipline), or with equivalent experience relating to healthcare
Knowledge
Knowledge and experience of project management and risk / issues management
Awareness of strategic challenges facing the NHS (in particular Eastern region)
Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team working skills – projects are aligned to programmes / portfolios, often interdependent on each other.
Ability to manage own workload, prioritise work in response to changing requirements and demands and attention to detail
Willingness to learn
Proficient in use of a range of IT software, including MS Word, Ms project, Excel and PowerPoint
Analytical skills – specifically relating to healthcare data sets.
Experience
Significant experience in managing projects, specifically those within the NHS / care settings.
Experience in manging innovative / transformative projects.
Experience of writing reports for a range of audiences (bid writing, data collection and analysis, report writing)
