Summary
Internal Automotive Insurance Assessor required in Swansea.
- Starting salary up to £30-35,000 per annum pending experience plus additional 12% of your annual salary bonus potential.
- Either full-time or part-time options available. 40 hours if full-time and minimum 20 hours if part-time.
- Hybrid working option available.
Our client, the UK's leading automotive insurer operating for over 75 years, require an Internal Assessor to join their business.
Supported by a Team Leader and working as part of a friendly team from our client's office in Swansea (with the option to spend 3 days in the office collaborating with colleagues and 2 days working from home each week), as an Internal Assessor you will provide engineering services to our client's motor claims department with particular focus on correct use of repair methodology, repair cost control and the validation of vehicle damage in line with incident circumstances and policy cover.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing estimates and images for repair, agreeing repair methods and negotiating costs.
- Reviewing external engineer’s reports, resolving valuation disputes and provide technical advice.
- Liaise with Repairers/Policyholders/Third Parties or their representatives as appropriate.
- Provide technical advice and support to other areas of our client's business.
- Identifying discrepancies with accident damage and incident circumstances.
- Maintain a professional image of our client.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ensure that manual and computer records are accurate and reflecting any changes made in a clear precise manner, including changes in claim estimates (full training provided).
In order to be eligible you will need have a strong background in the automotive body repair industry, particularly in vehicle damage assessing with experience carrying out physical and desktop inspections/assessments. Knowledge of Audatex and Thatcham Escribe is highly desirable and you will have a strong knowledge cars and light commercial vehicles. Knowledge of HGV’s, coaches, and agricultural plant machinery is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
