The Internal Communications team sit at the heart of DVLA and are responsible for the delivery of all corporate internal communications to over 6,000 staff across multiple sites in Swansea and Birmingham. The team develop, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based internal campaigns which are aligned to the agency’s strategic priorities.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as we introduce new digital channels and new ways of delivery. The successful candidate will have plenty of opportunity to be creative and have a say in how we continuously improve.
Reporting to the Internal Communications Manager, this varied and fast-paced role will provide administrative and communication support to the internal communications team to support the delivery of a professional and effective internal communications service which meets the strategic needs of the agency.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
- Supporting the administration, and usage, of the corporate communications channels, including the intranet and digital screens.
- Conducting generic housekeeping duties including maintaining the Internal Communications inbox, storage drives and files, and content planner.
- Ensuring drafted communications meet corporate standards and the needs of the stakeholder, customer, and audience.
- Providing support to the wider Internal Communications team as necessary, for example in planning and delivering corporate events, developing and optimising internal channels, and reviewing and updating content on the intranet platform.

This role will be based in Swansea, and we will be operating a hybrid working model that allows you to work between home and on-site giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work, subject to business needs and this also allows for ongoing support, development, and collaboration with colleagues.
