Summary

Join us as a Credit Manager, Large Counterparty Credit Securitisation

  • Joining a high performing team in a fast growing part of the bank, you’ll add value to lending propositions while working with senior structurers and portfolio managers
  • You’ll sanction borrowing applications within a delegated authority level in accordance with current risk appetite, process and procedures, within a securitisation team
  • Hone your existing credit skills and gain valuable exposure as you establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, and act as an ambassador for the function, raising credit skills and awareness in the business

What you'll do

As a Credit Manager, you’ll be supporting the Commercial & Institutional franchise by providing challenge and oversight of their strategy and lending decisions across finance companies, securitisations and structured finance spaces, including associated derivatives. You’ll be focussed on opportunities to back our private debt clients in their CLO structures, across both private and public markets internationally covering both broadly syndicated and mid-market loans.

We’ll look to you to help structure credit solutions to meet customers’ needs within the bank’s risk appetite, while providing assurance of consistent and disciplined credit underwriting in line with risk appetite, with key risks identified.

It’ll also be your responsibility to:

  • Provide a second line of defence to make sure the first line remains within the lending appetite and policy, while ensuring robust risk and control frameworks are in place and followed
  • Develop procedures to apply core credit policies to securitisation to make sure they’re fit for purpose, as well as shaping and challenging product and asset class risk appetite
  • Assess and sanction highly complex credit applications using your delegated authority, undertaking quality risk assessments across a range of lending requests, and clearly communicating the key risk factors underlying your lending decisions
  • Make sure the needs and impact upon the customer are considered through all aspects of the risk assessment process allowing fair outcomes for our customers
  • Work collaboratively to make sure the team deliver responses within agreed deadlines

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for an experienced lender with sound analytical and technical credit skills, strong commercial awareness and the ability to help shape complex deals to create fair customer outcomes. In addition, you’ll bring securitisation expertise, alongside the desire to improve processes and policies to increase efficiency and provide insight across the portfolio.

In addition, you’ll need knowledge of product and transaction types, including repos, margin loans, derivatives, synthetic and true sale securitisation structures. Alongside this, you’ll bring the ability to read, understand and challenge legal securitisation documentation.

You’ll also need:

  • An understanding of credit policy, economic, legal and regulatory issues, along with strong technical knowledge and understanding of underwriting processes and systems
  • Knowledge of mid-market and broadly syndicated lending, and commercial segments, sectors, and lending products, with experience across both Europe and the US
  • A deep understanding of broader securitisation markets including small and medium enterprises, mortgages, cards, auto, leases, and commercial real estate
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Experience of utilising a delegated authority individually or as part of a credit committee
