Summary


There is a vacancy for a recovery Support Worker in Rotherham Assertive Outreach Team. The role involves working with service users with complex mental health needs on an individual and group basis, assisting care coordinators to provide care through the care programme/case management approach. You will provide practical and regular support to service users and carers in community or inpatient settings, with a focus on socially inclusive activities and recovery.

You will need to have a willingness to undertake on going training; up to NVQ level 3 and/or certificate in mental health. You will have two years experience of working with vulnerable adults in a paid or unpaid capacity, experience of teamwork or experience of using mental health services or caring for someone with mental health problems.

The Team embraces social inclusion and recovery principles, promoting a positive person centred approach using evidence based assessment and interventions.

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver a range of therapeutic interventions and other aspects of the service user's care plan under the guidance of the multi-disciplinary team inclusive of occupational therapists, psychiatric nurses, , psychologists and consultant psychiatrists.

This is a varied role and applicants will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, person-centred approaches to care and utmost respect and compassion for the people we serve. You will work as part of a large team of multi skilled, experienced colleagues who will be able to support to deliver safe and effective care. Opportunity's for training and development are encouraged and offered within the team. A full driving licence is essential for this role.
