Summary
The Doncaster Adult mental health wards, Brodsworth, Cusworth including the Psychiatric Intensive Care unit Skelbrooke are looking to recruit a Band 6 Occupational Therapist who has experience of working within the specialism of mental health. Equally we have an established structured development path to support the right candidate from band 5 to band 6. We are also able to support return to practice if you are looking to regain your HCPC registration.
The wards provide inpatient care to 18–65-year-olds on a sectorised basis, in conjunction with the Crisis Resolution Service.
To work within an occupational therapy mental health pathway aimed at supporting service users to achieve their recovery goals/ functional stability
To carry out assessments and interventions, utilising the OT process, from initial assessment to discharge planning and evaluation
To use MOHO as a core framework for practice (including MOHO based standardised assessments and formulations for pre-post therapy outcome measures and patient-centred goal planning)
Carry a clinical caseload of service user’s requiring specialist OT, planning and prioritising own work, with opportunity to have regular patient input from the OT assistants.
Delegate clinical duties to other OTs and/or OT assistants ensuring they have appropriate knowledge, understanding and competence.
Providing support and supervision for OTAs and initiating and reviewing OTA delivered patient goal plans.
Gather, analyse and evaluate information to identify occupational performance and participation issues in partnership with the service user, carer and colleagues.
