Description
We are currently seeking a Temporary Accommodation Housing Officer (Grade 5) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing temporary accommodation for individuals and families in need. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that vulnerable individuals have a safe and secure place to stay during difficult times.

Responsibilities
Coordinate the provision of temporary accommodation for individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Conduct assessments to determine eligibility for temporary accommodation and make appropriate placements.
Liaise with local authorities, housing associations, and private landlords to secure temporary accommodation options.
Manage a caseload of housing applicants, providing support and advice on housing options and financial assistance.
Carry out regular inspections of temporary accommodation to ensure it meets health and safety standards.
Facilitate the move-on process by assisting individuals and families in finding suitable long-term housing solutions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and systems, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social work, housing, or a related field.
Previous experience in a housing-related role, preferably within temporary accommodation.
Knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefits, and support services available to homeless individuals.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to empathize and build rapport with vulnerable individuals.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage a high caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and database systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
