Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Street Scene Enforcement Officer Grade 5 to join our team. This critical role involves ensuring that the public environments in our community remain clean, safe, and enjoyable for all residents and visitors. The Street Scene Enforcement Officer will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with local regulations related to street maintenance, public spaces, and environmental hygiene. By conducting regular inspections and assessments, the officer will identify issues that may negatively impact the street scene, including litter, graffiti, illegal parking, and other forms of public disorder. This position requires a proactive approach to community engagement, as the officer will work closely with local businesses, residents, and other stakeholders to foster a culture of responsibility and pride in our shared spaces. Strong communication skills and the ability to diffuse potentially tense situations are essential, as the officer will be a visible presence in the community, promoting a cooperative and constructive atmosphere. Responsibilities
Monitor and enforce compliance with local ordinances regarding street cleanliness and public safety.
Conduct regular inspections of public spaces to identify maintenance and enforcement issues.
Engage with community members and businesses to promote compliance with regulations and address concerns.
Document violations and prepare reports for further action as needed.
Assist in planning and implementing initiatives to enhance the overall street scene.
Collaborate with local authorities and service providers to coordinate street maintenance and improvement projects.
Respond to public inquiries and complaints relating to street scene issues promptly and professionally.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; further education in public administration or a related field is a plus.
Previous experience in law enforcement, public administration, or community services preferred.
Strong observational skills and attention to detail when assessing public spaces.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective community engagement.
Ability to remain calm and composed in potentially challenging situations and resolve conflicts amicably.
Basic knowledge of local laws and regulations pertaining to public space enforcement.
Proficient in using technology for reporting and record-keeping purposes.
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 07:00
End Time: 15:00
Pay Per Hour: £14.13
