Summary


Are you an experienced Nurse, looking for a varied role where you can develop skills in both inpatient and community? Are you keen to be part of a new model of care?

We are a unique and modern day-hospital CAMHS service based in Wokingham looking for a band 6 Nurse to join us on either a full or part time basis.

Our serviceprovides interventions for young people with complex mental health issues requiring tier-4 level care, but who benefit from a more flexible, community-based approach.

In this role you will work with young people who use our service during the day as well as doing outreach visits and offering home support to patients and their families. This gives you a rare opportunity to develop skills in both inpatient and community at the same time.

As an innovative CAMHS service we strongly support the development of our clinicians and can offer you both internal and external training whist giving you the opportunity in the role to make a real difference in the lives of our patients.

The service operates Monday to Friday 08:00 – 20:00 and 09:00 – 17:00 at weekends and you will work on a rota basis doing averagely one weekend per month.
• Providing care to patients with a variety of mental health issues.
• Planning, and implementing holistic care plans.
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Developing relationships with other professionals, patients and their families/carers.
• Planning interventions, ensuring that clinical policies and procedures are followed correctly, and risks are minimised.
• Supporting young people with eating disorders via therapeutic meal support.
• Providing clinical supervision to a small number of junior staff or student nurses.
• Ensuring services are delivered in the area of specialism that meets quality and clinical effectiveness standards.
• Complying with all national, statutory, legislative, professional and local policy.
• Role modelling the highest standards of behaviour in relation to health and safety at work, cooperating to ensure that statutory and departmental safety regulations are adhered to.

The “must haves” for this role:
• Be a qualified Mental Health or Paediatric registered Nurse
• Previous experience working with people with mental health conditions
• Demonstrable leadership experience
• Full UK driving license and access to vehicle
