Summary
A key part of the Technology function, the IT Services (ITS) department, provides all IT related services and develops new IT solutions in collaboration with colleagues from across the organisation, whilst ensuring the ongoing smooth operation of existing solutions. You will be joining a team of collaborators and knowledge sharers working in an agile, fast-paced environment.
As a Linux Technical Analyst, you will join a team who provides services across a large portfolio of cutting-edge enterprise applications for business administration, teaching and learning, and is responsible for the delivery, management, and technical support of these applications.
You will be a key part of ensuring the overall design of mission-critical enterprise applications and ensuring they are delivered effectively, reliably, and efficiently, while performing technical evaluations of new applications, and liaising with suppliers, designing a cost-effective approach to deployment, and ensuring good performance and security is in place across the organisations\' hardware and software systems.
Your profile
- Knowledge and experience working with Linux-based applications- Red Hat Enterprise 7/8 and Windows Severs, administering and managing applications
- Knowledge and experience working with application delivery- Apache Web Server, Apache Tomcat
- Knowledge and experience working with LAMP technologies
- Knowledge and experience of application delivery technologies such as TCP/IP, LAN networking (DNS, HTTP(S), SMTP, FTP)
- Knowledge and experience of Oracle, MySQL, RDP, IIS, Active Directory, LDAP
- Knowledge and experience identifying, diagnosing, and managing the resolution of application issues, while ensuring effective and efficient delivery of service to end users
- Knowledge and experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting applications (SITS, Dspace, Moodle)
- Knowledge and experience upgrading servers and installing and updating applications within a dev test environment to a live one
