Job Purpose:I am a 16-year-old boy with a diagnosis of Autism and severe learning disability who is looking for a Personal Assistant to support me with various activities in the community. Sometimes I am not able to process information so need someone who would check with me and ensure I understand is being communicated to me. My main interests include hair and beauty and I really enjoy styling hair, I also like to listen to music, swimming and walks in the park. I enjoy visiting the city where we could be looking around the shops or grabbing some lunch as well as going to places that spark my interest on the day or venturing further afield (theme parks etc.) I would ideally like to employ someone with similar interests.Location: Norwich, NR9Details:Support with accessing the community and activities.Ensuring safety when out and about.Support with independence and making choices.Providing encouragement and practical assistance when out and about .Person specificationEssential:Friendly and supportive.Patient with good communication skills.Caring.Active.Car owner with the appropriate business insurance.Summary terms and conditions:· The rate of pay for this position is £12.00 per hour, £0.45 per mile when out and about.· Hours and times of work: 6 hours per week, start at 10:00 and finish at 16:00 at weekends and during school holidays.· The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.· You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.Post is subject to the following:· A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.· Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.· Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months.· This position requires the employee to complete free annual training: GDPR, Health and Safety, First Aid, Risk Assessment, Autism.
