JOB TITLE Personal AssistantHOURS 4 hours a weekRate of Pay £10.50Probation period 6 monthsLOCATION Our own home and in the wider community

PURPOSE OF JOB

We are looking for a personal assistant (PA) to support my son with short trips out in the community initially. Activities that he enjoys include playing football and trampolining. You will also need to be able to drive a car in order to do things like taking him to Mcdonalds that he enjoys. Experience or knowledge of working with autistic children is essential.He has very little awareness of danger when out and about so you must be mindful of this around traffic and other potentially dangerous situations. You should also be aware that he can be very fast so you will need to be able to keep up with him. No personal care is required at this stage.SUPERVISION My PA will be directed by and accountable to me in all aspects of their work. He must always ask what I require and not make assumptions about any aspect of the assistance I need or how it should be carried out. He should not carry out tasks unless we have first discussed it.MAIN DUTIESMy PA will be required to do the following tasks and may be asked to carry out other tasks of a similar nature:- Support our son to access the activities he enjoys both in the community and at home- Ensure he is safe and secure at all times- Encourage him to try new activities as and when appropriate- Personal careAny other request that I may reasonably make
