Support worker needed mainly after school, weekends and school holidays, for one to one support for a 13 year old boy with ADHD and some learning disabilities (no personal care needed) . Days/hours per day are very flexible.

We are based in Morley, LS27

W is 13 but in the way he understands the world is more like an 8 or 9 year old. He is quite naive and needs someone to look out for him as is vulnerable and doesn't understand that people can't always be trusted. He's funny, sweet, chatty and giddy. He enjoys activities such as going to trampoline parks, bowling, going to the cinema etc. We’d ideally like someone who can take him on various outings but who also would be happy to e.g. play board games or play lego with him at home which he enjoys.
We’d ideally like someone who has some understanding and/or previous experience of working with neurodiverse children, however, the main thing is that you gel with W and vice versa. It would also be good if you like dogs – we have a very friendly lab retriever who is very much a family member. Due to W liking going out to do activities, a car driver/car owner is essential and petrol costs will be paid in addition to the hourly rate.

Basic rate is £11.30 per hour plus holiday pay. This equates to FTE annual salary of £22,035

Happy to discuss everything by phone if more information is needed.
