Luma Education Recruitment is working with a highly regarded SEMH school in Nottingham to recruit a passionate Science Teacher.

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will teach engaging and practical Science lessons to secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You'll be supported by experienced leaders, specialist support staff, and a collaborative teaching team focused on helping every student succeed.

This role would particularly suit a teacher who values relationship-building, creative teaching approaches, and making a genuine difference to young people's lives.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Adapt learning to meet individual pupil needs
Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and progress
Support pupils' academic, emotional, and social development
Maintain high expectations while promoting a calm and structured learning environment
Work closely with pastoral, SEND, and leadership teams
Assess, monitor, and celebrate student progress
Who We're Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS
Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are strongly encouraged to apply
Experienced Science Teachers looking to move into SEMH or specialist education are also welcomed
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Passion for supporting young people who may have experienced challenges in education
