● Salary: £42,000 (pro rata)
● Annual leave: Eight Statutory days plus 25 days (pro rata)

We are looking for the right person to lead our Food Bank at a time when our community needs us most. This is a pivotal role for someone who cares deeply about reducing food poverty across the Morecambe Bay area and who can bring strong leadership, compassion, and clear strategic direction. As our Food Bank Manager, you will guide our charity into its next chapter, supported by a dedicated Operations Manager, committed admin support, and an incredible team of volunteers.
About Us
Morecambe Bay Food Bank supports individuals and families experiencing food poverty and insecurity across the area. We work with partners, volunteers, and local organisations to provide emergency food and wrap-around support, helping people move beyond crisis with dignity and hope.
The Role
As our manager, you will provide strategic leadership, oversee day‑to‑day operations through the Operations Manager, and work closely with the Board of Trustees to strengthen the long‑term sustainability of the charity.
You will:
● Lead the development and delivery of our strategy and annual plans
● Build strong relationships with local authorities, community partners, and supporters
● Drive fundraising, income generation to secure the charity’s future
● Increase food donations.
● Ensure governance, compliance, safeguarding, and risk management systems are robust
● Represent the Food Bank publicly and act as a key ambassador for our mission
● Foster a positive, inclusive culture that values volunteers and supports staff wellbeing
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
● Brings proven leadership experience in a charity, community, or public sector setting
● Is confident in building partnerships, engaging stakeholders, and representing an organisation externally
● Understands the challenges facing people experiencing poverty
● Has experience with fundraising, budgeting, and organisational development
● Communicates with clarity, empathy, and purpose
● Values teamwork, inclusion, and community-driven approaches
