Summary

Picking & Sorting Operative

• Location: Tarleton, PR4
• Job Type: Full-Time, 33 hours per week - 3 x 11 hour consecutive shifts!
• Commences mid-July, ends mid-November 2026 (extensions to March may be applicable to assist with the next harvesting batch)
• Pay: £13.00 per hour, weekly pay (BREAKS ARE PAID!)

Working hours: Two shift patterns available (Sundays off each week)
• 2 x open shifts: Monday to Wednesday: 7am – 6pm (3 x 11-hour shifts)
• 2 x open shifts: Thursday to Saturday: 7am – 6pm (3 x 11-hour shifts)

What’s on offer:
• Paid Breaks: Morning: 20 minutes, Lunch: 30 minutes, Afternoon: 20 minutes, evening: 10 minutes.
• Weekly pay with overtime opportunities during busier weeks.
• Seasonal opportunity, expected to complete on 15th November.
• Additional work available from November to March for next set of harvested product ranges.

We are recruiting Picking & Sorting Operatives on behalf of a well-established business near Tarleton. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced agricultural environment.

This role is due to an increase in order volumes above initially expected, and immediate starts are available for suitable applications. These roles are in additional to workers already employed. The role involves working in a covered, outdoor setting across multiple work areas. If you enjoy physical, hands-on work in a team-focused environment, this could be the perfect fit for you!

Key responsibilities:
• Sorting raw produce to remove defective or unsuitable items.
• Operating grading machinery and maintaining quality standards.
• Removing soil, debris, stones, and foreign materials from produce.
• Monitoring product quality before the next grading stage.
• Assisting with general cleaning and maintenance.
• Following all health and safety regulations.
• Rotating between work areas for a varied workload.

Requirements:
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently in a repetitive role.
• Comfortable working in an agricultural setting (PPE provided).
• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
• Physically capable of standing for extended periods of time and performing repetitive tasks.
• Flexible with working hours, including Saturdays if required.
• Own transport is highly desirable due to the location and shift times.
