Summary
BBS Recruitment is an independent recruitment agency for the transport and logistics sector, supplying to a variety of clients across London, Hertfordshire, and surrounding areas. We also recruit for Social Care and Public Sector roles.
We are currently recruiting a Support Worker for our client based in Essex.
The service is a 15-bedroom facility for children and adults with complex physical and learning disabilities, where the needs of each young person are assessed individually to create a personalised care plan that delivers the best support.
Responsibilities for Support Worker:
- Providing person-centred care and support to children and adults with complex physical and learning disabilities.
- Assisting individuals with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Supporting service users with mobility needs, including the safe use of hoists, wheelchairs, and other mobility equipment.
- Following and implementing individual care plans tailored to each person's needs and goals.
- Promoting independence and encouraging individuals to develop daily living skills.
- Supporting service users with medication administration in line with policies and procedures.
- Monitoring and recording health, wellbeing, and behavioural changes, reporting concerns to senior staff.
- Assisting with meal preparation and supporting individuals with eating and drinking where required.
- Providing emotional support and building positive, trusting relationships with service users and their families.
- Supporting individuals to participate in recreational, educational, and community-based activities.
- Maintaining accurate care records, incident reports, and daily documentation.
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and supportive environment while safeguarding vulnerable children and adults at all times.
- Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.
Rate: £14/hr
