Summary

We are currently recruiting a Support Worker for our client in Essex. The post holder will be supporting residents within a home working 2:1 mainly. Personal care may be required or support out in the community.
Responsibilities for the Support Worker:
• Providing person-centred care and support to individuals with a range of physical disabilities, learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, epilepsy and complex needs.
• Assisting service users with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while promoting dignity and independence.
• Supporting individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation, household tasks, and medication administration.
• Encouraging and promoting independence, choice, and inclusion in all aspects of daily life.
• Building positive relationships with service users, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Supporting individuals to access the community, attend appointments, and participate in social and recreational activities.
• Monitoring and recording changes in service users' physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
• Completing accurate care notes, incident reports, and daily records in accordance with company policies.
• Providing emotional support and reassurance to individuals experiencing anxiety, distress, or challenging situations.
• Supporting individuals with behaviours that challenge using positive behaviour support strategies.
• Assisting wheelchair users and individuals with mobility difficulties using appropriate moving and handling techniques.
• Promoting safeguarding, health and safety, and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
• Supporting individuals with medication administration and maintaining accurate medication records.
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care and support.
• Encouraging participation in activities such as shopping, day trips, exercise, arts and crafts, games, and social events to enhance wellbeing and quality of life.
Certifications required for Support Worker:
- Moving and Handling Practical
- Buccal Training
- Medication management
- Epilepsy awareness
- Mandatory Training Certificate
Shift pattern:
Day Shifts, Night Shifts, Weekend Shifts
