Summary

Short Description:
Join our team as an Apprentice Finance Assistant, gaining hands-on finance experience while working towards an AAT Level 2 or 3 qualification.

Full Description:
Monday to Friday 8.30 - 5.00 40 hours (30-minute unpaid lunch)

MYSHON is a national Intensive Housing Management, Asset Management, and Advisory company established in 2017. Operating out of its Leeds headquarters, it partners with local authorities, charities, and registered providers to manage and support Transitional, Specialist Supported, and Affordable Housing.

MYSHON manages over 4000 homes across the UK delivering tailored support services, maintenance across four key sub-sectors: Specialist Supported Housing, Supported Housing, Transitional Housing, and Affordable Housing. Alongside housing management, they provide portfolio management, consultancy, and facilities management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
• Raise sales invoices and credit notes where required and maintain supporting documentation.
• Assist with processing of purchase invoices, supplier statements, staff expenses, and payment requests accurately and on time.
• Post bank receipts and payments, assist with bank reconciliations, and investigate any discrepancies.
• Help maintain purchase ledger and sales ledger records, ensuring transactions are coded correctly and approved in line with internal procedures.
• Monitor shared finance inboxes and respond to routine internal and external finance queries in a professional and timely manner.
• File, scan, and organise documents to ensure records are kept accurately.
• Support month-end activities, including reconciliations.
• An interest in studying towards an AAT or similar finance qualification
• Any previous work experience, part-time role, or volunteering involving administration, customer service, or handling information accurately
• Confidence using computers and learning new systems
• An interest in building a long-term career in finance or accounting journals, accruals/prepayments support, and reporting preparation.
• Assist with credit control activities, including issuing statements, following up overdue balances, and updating records.
• Use accounting software and Excel to input, check, and report financial information.
• Follow financial controls, data protection, and confidentiality requirements.

Future Prospects:
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity to progress into a permanent Finance Assistant position. Key Skills & Experience
• Good basic numeracy and attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills in finance and administration
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Good communication skills and a professional approach
• Ability to stay organised and manage tasks with support from the team
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

Desirable Skills
• An interest in studying towards an AAT or similar finance qualification
