Summary
HGV Drivers Required
Class 1 (C+E) & Class 2 (Category C)
• Location: Preston, PR2 / PR3
• Pay Rate: £14.00 – £18.00 per hour DOE
• Shifts Available: Day and night shifts available – 5 days per week (45–50 hours)
• Job Type: Full-time, 12-week temp-to-perm opportunities (ongoing temporary work may also be available)
NW Recruitment Services Ltd are currently working in exclusive partnership with a well-established transport and logistics operation in the Preston area to recruit experienced HGV Drivers.
We are seeking both HGV Class 1 (C+E) and HGV Class 2 (Category C) drivers to join a busy and professional transport team offering regular work, modern vehicles, ongoing support and long-term career prospects.
Whether you are an experienced Class 1 driver looking for regional trunking work or a Class 2 driver seeking consistent local and regional deliveries, we would like to hear from you.
HGV Class 1 Drivers (C+E):
• Driving Class 1 articulated vehicles (44T) on scheduled regional delivery routes
• Completing vehicle safety inspections before and after shifts
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and efficiently
• Maintaining accurate tachograph and transport records
• Securing loads and complying with all transport legislation and company procedures
• Liaising with the transport office regarding route updates and delivery schedules
HGV Class 2 Drivers (Category C):
• Operating rigid vehicles (up to 18-tonne curtain side with tail lift) on local and regional delivery routes
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety inspections and reporting any defects
• Completing delivery paperwork and tachograph records accurately
• Loading, securing and transporting goods safely
• Providing a professional and courteous service during deliveries and collections
• Communicating effectively with transport teams regarding route updates and delays
Requirements:
• Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence or HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 penalty points (major endorsements not accepted)
• Previous HGV driving experience preferred and ideally referenceable
• Good understanding of driver hours regulations and transport compliance
• Good knowledge of UK road networks
• Strong communication skills and professional approach to work
• Reliable, safety-conscious and customer-focused attitude
