Site location: Preston
Pay Rate: £14.00 – £16.00 per hour DOE (start salary TBC following site interview)
Shifts Available: Flexible day and night shifts
Job Type: Full-time, permanent (12-week initial temp period through NW Recruitment Services based on business demand / performances)
NW Recruitment Services Ltd are currently exclusively in partnership with a well-established transport and logistics operation in the Preston area aiding the recruitment of experienced HGV and Multi-Drop Drivers of all levels.
This is a great opportunity for drivers seeking consistent work within a professional and supportive transport environment.
The roles:
• Operating Class 2 vehicles on scheduled local and regional delivery routes (18-tonne curtain side with tail lift)
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety inspections and reporting discrepancies accordingly
• Completing delivery paperwork and tachograph records accurately in line with assimilated rules and procedures
• Loading, securing, and transporting goods safely at all times during transit
• Providing a professional and courteous service to customers during deliveries and collections
• Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding route updates, delays and any affected delivery schedules
Requirements:
• Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) LGV licence
• Digital Tachograph Card and Valid Driver CPC and
• No more than 6 penalty points (major endorsements not accepted)
• Previous Class 2 driving experience preferred (most recent to be referenceable)
• Good knowledge of road networks - both local and regional
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Reliable and professional approach to work
