You will define suitable approaches to monitoring and synthesising evidence and intelligence to support surveillance and prioritisation board decisions.

You will engage with internal and external partners in formulating surveillance and prioritisation decisions. You will also support NICE’s transformation by developing methods and processes to deliver more relevant, timely, useable and impactful guidance.

The post holder will be involved in all aspects of Prioritisation and Surveillance work for NICE and helping develop new methods to support NICE’s transformation.

• Working with Information Specialists to identify new evidence from a variety of sources.

• Contributing to technical and organisational developments and proposing changes to policy and methodology
• Present highly complex and sometimes conflicting or contentious information with clarity and sensitivity to groups of people including topic experts, non-specialists, including people with the medical condition in question
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a range of individuals both inside and outside the organisation
• Organise and plan and prioritise personal workload given multiple topics at different stages of producing guidance.

The Prioritisation and Surveillance Team is responsible for the ongoing surveillance programme for NICE published guidance. This includes reviewing new evidence and other system intelligence from the health and care system on a regular basis, to produce surveillance reports, and to make proposals to the NICE Prioritisation Board on whether guidance should be updated.

The team also supports the operations of NICE-wide topic prioritisation and the NICE Prioritisation Board by assessing proposed new topics and updates to existing guidance against the NICE prioritisation framework to ensure NICE is focusing on the areas that matter most to the health and care system, and is aligned to national priorities.
