Father Hudson’s Caritas is set in the beautiful stunning Warwickshire countryside, near to the heart of the historic coaching town of Coleshill. We are very conveniently located for main transport links and the motorway network.
The Domiciliary Care & Supported Living services works with adults who need support to live independently. Working in people’s homes and in St Vincent’s supported living apartments, support workers ensure people have the support they need to live the life of their choosing.
We are looking for an experienced support worker to join our established team. This role requires someone who has experience in lone working and supporting someone with additional needs within their home and also out in the community. This individual requires 24 hours support, so you will be expected to do a varied shift pattern, which will include weekends and at least 1 sleep in shift every 3 weeks.
The Support Worker’s role will be to assist a tenant who requires support as a result of physical, intellectual or sensory impairment to maximise their mobility and independence. This may include personal care and domestic duties, developing a range of social and leisure activities as required by the tenants and undertaking the role of Key Worker assisting the tenants to appointments.

Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
1. To provide appropriate care and support in order to ensure the tenants are able to maximise
their independence and make choices in all areas of their lives.
2. To undertake administrative, financial and household tasks as delegated by the
Manager/Deputy Manager or other appropriate person.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
To assist the tenants with their personal and domestic duties (this may include
prompting but not limited to bathing, dressing, eating and other personal care needs
as required).
To participate in assessment, care planning and review meetings.
To assist the tenants who require support as a result of physical, intellectual or
sensory impairment to maximise their mobility and independence, as detailed in
Care Plans and Risk Assessments. This might include pushing wheelchairs and
operating aids such as specialist baths and/or hoists, as well as lending physical
support to tenants.
To support tenants with preparing meals and snacks as necessary.
To assist the tenants in domestic tasks and personal laundry as well as supporting
with shopping for household goods or personal items.
To assist and advise in developing a range of social and leisure activities as required by the tenants.
To promote individual independence and choice.
To assist the tenants in accessing community facilities.
Support Worker Domiciliary Care
In consultation with the tenants, Manager and Deputy Manager or other appropriate
person, ensure clear communication with Social Services, Families/Carers,
Employers, Medical Professional or any other appropriate person or professional
involved in the tenant’s lives.
To undertake the role of Key Worker assisting the tenants to appointments (including
but not limited to appointments for social, leisure, domestic, employment and
educational activities).
Record and report to Manager, Deputy Manager or any other appropriate person,
any identified safeguarding or other risks to tenant and staff, e.g. harm, self-harm,
threats of, or actual physical aggression to others (including but not limited to
tenants, staff or members of the public).
To adhere to all Father Hudson’s Caritas policies and procedures and those of
statutory authorities, as well as any other relevant and recognised policies, codes of conduct or best practice.
Positively respond to behaviours that challenge, following behavioural management guidelines.
