We are seeking a caring and reliable Personal Assistant to support a cheerful, energetic 12‑year‑old boy with severe learning disabilities and autism. He is non‑verbal and communicates using Talking Tiles, pictures and visual storyboards.
He enjoys reading books, watching TV, playing with sensory toys and would like support to return to park walks, swimming and outings. He enjoys keeping to a routine which helps him understand what is happening and prevents anxiety. Experience with autism is desirable.

The role involves 1:1 supervision to keep him safe, encourage community access and independence, and to support mum during school holidays for outings with both children.

- Medication prompting/administering
- Personal grooming
- Eating and drinking assistancee
- Moving and handling
- Other relevant duties as required
- Cooking
- Transportation
- Companionship
- Dressing / undressing
- Bathroom assistance

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy and well organised
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
- We are looking for a positive kind, person with lots of experience of working with children with learning disabilities and autism who also has lots of patience!

Additional requirements
- Non-smoker due to medical reasons
- Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
