The Role
A well-established and forward-thinking organisation within the steel and engineering sector is looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join its team at a modern production facility.
The company operates advanced machinery and continues to invest in cutting-edge technology, supplying high-quality products to the construction and engineering industries.
This is a key position focused on maintaining the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems and site equipment. You will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and driving continuous improvements to maximise performance and uptime.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding on a range of equipment
Perform both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs
Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
Maintain and repair various types of machinery, including:
Overhead cranes and lifting equipment
Cutting, drilling, and profiling machinery
Welding and grinding equipment
Forklifts and side loaders
Replace and repair mechanical components such as bearings and gears
Ensure compliance with all health & safety procedures
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors when required
Work independently and take full ownership of tasks through to completion
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role with an electrical bias
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
Experience within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment is advantageous

You’ll be a proactive and hands-on engineer with strong technical knowledge and a commitment to safety and quality. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
