Our client manufactures a wide range of steel products in a large state of the art, production facility. They have invested in leading technology for cutting, drilling, profiling, shotblasting and priming equipment, ensuring they manufacture high quality products whilst meeting the demands of the construction and engineering industries. They are keen to recruit a Maintenance Engineer with Electrical Bias to be responsible for the following:
The job
The maintenance engineer – electrical bias is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment across the site. The role focuses on delivering planned preventative maintenance, responding effectively to breakdowns and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment availability and operational performance.
You will be electrical & mechanical fault finding, reading mechanical & electrical drawings, change bearings and gears as well as maintaining and repairing overhead cranes and jibs, plasma cutting machinery, cutting and saw/drilling machinery, welders/grinders, forklifts and sideloaders.
Requirements
To apply for the electrically biased maintenance position, you must be able to work on your own initiative when needed and show the desire to see jobs through, adhering to Health and Safety procedures and work instructions at all times. You will be able to organise and control subcontractors and have a background in electrical engineering with qualifications including NVQ level 3 in electrical or equivalent and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Shifts, Salary and Benefits
The maintenance engineer – electrical bias work 40 hours per week an rotating shifts (Days & Afters).
Day shifts are Mon–Thurs: 6:00am – 3:00pm and Fri: 6:00am – 12:30pm
Afternoon shifts are Mon–Thurs: 3:00pm – 12:00am and Fri: 12:30pm – 7:00pm
Salary will be dependent on experience, but is expected to be between £40,000 and £50,000 p/a.
