General Science Teacher – Part-time, temporary role from October 2026 to July 2027

This General Science Teacher role offers a part-time, temporary opportunity from October 2026 until July 2027. The General Science Teacher will deliver engaging and structured science lessons across the secondary age range, supporting students to develop confidence and understanding in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This role is ideal for a committed General Science Teacher seeking a defined-term position while making a meaningful impact within a supportive school setting.
Duties as General Science Teacher:
- Deliver engaging General Science lessons across the secondary curriculum
- Teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to a range of abilities
- Follow existing schemes of work and curriculum guidance
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Use assessment to monitor progress and support student understanding
- Provide clear feedback to help students improve their learning
- Adapt lesson delivery to meet individual learning needs
- Work collaboratively with the Science department and wider staff team
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal General Science Teacher:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching General Science at secondary level
- Confident teaching across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Organised, flexible, and reliable approach
- Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities
- Willingness to commit to a part-time role for the full duration of the contract
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
