Summary

Support Worker - Telecare Response
Location: Hertfordshire - Community based work with travel around the area
Salary: £13.45 per hour
Hours: Zero per week, as and when required working evenings, nights and weekends
Contract: Casual
Additional Information: Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (Business mileage reimbursed)

​We’re looking for compassionate and reliable Service Support Workers to join our Telecare team, supporting vulnerable adults to live safely and independently at home.
This is a rewarding, community-based role where you’ll respond to Telecare alerts, provide practical and emotional support, and ensure service users receive timely and person-centred care—often in urgent situations.

What will a day in the life of a Support Worker involve?
Respond to Telecare alarms promptly, attending service users’ homes within 60 minutes and providing immediate support.
Deliver person-centred care through welfare checks, risk assessments, and follow-up visits.
Work collaboratively with families, health professionals, and support networks to meet individual needs.
Maintain accurate records, monitor changes in condition, and work flexibly across a 7-day rota to ensure continuous service delivery.
To be a successful Support Worker, what will you need?
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Well-organised with good time management skills, able to prioritise tasks effectively and maintain accurate records using basic IT systems.
Professional and discreet approach when handling sensitive situations, with experience delivering services to the public.
Understanding of health or social care (including vulnerable individuals, dementia or complex needs desirable), with flexibility to work 24/7 shifts and travel across Hertfordshire to meet response times.
