An exciting opportunity has become available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a welcoming and supportive small animal practice in Somerset on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis.
Situated in a historic and picturesque Somerset market town, this friendly veterinary practice offers an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon seeking flexibility, professional development, and a collaborative team environment.
This is a part-time Veterinary Surgeon role, offering 30 hours per week with flexible working arrangements, alongside a 1 in 4 Saturday rota, supporting an excellent work-life balance.
The successful candidate will join a close-knit and experienced clinical team consisting of two Veterinary Surgeons, a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse (HRVN), a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN), and a dedicated support team.
The practice itself is modern, spacious, and well-equipped, featuring a large reception area, two consulting rooms, an operating theatre, and advanced diagnostic facilities including digital X-ray, ECG, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, and more.
The Role
Typically, the Veterinary Surgeon in this role will:
• Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients during consultations and surgical procedures to the highest professional and regulatory standards
• Develop tailored treatment plans while building trusted relationships with clients
• Work collaboratively within a supportive and experienced veterinary team
• Maintain high standards of patient care, clinical excellence, and operational compliance
• Contribute positively to a friendly and progressive practice culture
