A vacancy has now arisen within the Housing Department for a Support Warden in our Central Team covering the areas of, Bolsover, Hillstown, Shuttlewood, Scarcliffe, Palterton, Glapwell, Doe lea, Bramley Vale, Pleasley, New Houghton, Shirebrook and Langwith.
The successful applicant will provide a Floating Support, 24/7 Pendant Alarm and Falls Recovery Service to vulnerable people linked to the Council’s Lifeline Service.
To be successful you will need
- An awareness of issues relating to working with elderly or vulnerable people
- Knowledge of Manual Handling good practice and technique
- Recent proven practical experience of working with elderly and vulnerable people
- Effective communication skills to deal on a face-to-face basis with tenants and members of the public
- Ability to work on own initiative and alone during unsociable hours
- Ability to be on Standby over night for a 7-day period on a rota basis (1 in 7) – see person specification for more details.
- Knowledge of the local area to find destinations especially in an emergency or out of hours call out situation
