Our client, a well-established not-for-profit organisation in Swindon, is seeking a dedicated Homeless Support Worker to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support vulnerable individuals, helping them achieve stability and independence in a dynamic, community-focused environment.

Key Details:

  • Hourly Rate: £14.25 per hour
  • Contract: 3-month contract
  • Requirement: DBS on the Update Service required due to immediate start date
What you'll be doing:
  • Providing compassionate support and guidance to individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness
  • Developing personalised action plans to promote stability and independence
  • Assisting clients with housing applications, benefit claims, and accessing community services
  • Conducting outreach to engage clients and build trusting relationships
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential case records in line with organisational policies
  • Collaborating with local agencies to coordinate support services
  • Empowering clients to achieve their personal goals
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to service improvements
What you'll bring:
  • Experience in homelessness support, social care, or related fields is desirable
  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with diverse clients
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of local housing, welfare systems, benefits, and support services
  • Resilience and ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Empathy, respect, and a non-judgemental approach
  • Proficiency in IT systems and case management software
  • A valid UK driving licence is advantageous but not essential
