Summary


Desian Education are proud to be working in collaboration with a Winsford-based mainstream primary school as they require an experienced and reliable teaching assistant to join their team on a full-time temporary basis from September.
Subject to funding, this position will last the entirety of the academic year.

Your new role:
As a teaching assistant within this school you will be joining a Year 4 class and directly support a new pupil on a 1:1 basis. This male pupil is an extremely bright individual but due to outside factors has been extremely disengaged and has been presenting behavioural challenges. To promote their engagement you will build a strong constructive relationship by treating them as the individual they are associating learning with their key interests. As they can present complex behavioural challenges you will also implement an array of positive behaviour strategies prior to an escalation by identifying their triggers. Other duties will include:
- Giving valid input during meetings
- Updating behaviour plans
- Giving accurate feedback to the class teacher & SENCO

What you need to succeed:
- Full “Right to Work” in the UK
- Be at least NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualified
- Have experience implementing positive behaviour strategies within a classroom environment
- Have a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years
- An Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
