NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for an experienced and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming primary school in Leeds.

This full-time role is to support a child in Reception with ASD and GDD who is non-verbal. The successful candidate will work closely with the pupil both within the mainstream classroom and within the school's in-house SEN provision, helping to provide consistent, nurturing and personalised support throughout the school day.

This is a long-term opportunity starting ASAP and would suit candidates with strong SEN experience and a patient, adaptable approach.
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Reception-aged pupil
- Supporting a child with ASD, GDD and communication needs
- Working both within the classroom and the school's in-house provision
- Assisting with learning, play-based activities and emotional regulation
- Supporting communication and social development
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff
- Creating a safe, positive and engaging learning environment
- Previous SEN experience is essential
- Experience supporting children with ASD and communication needs is highly desirable
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual pupil needs
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
