Summary
The post-holder will be an integral part of the general practice team and will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of prescription clerk, and reception duties, while providing general support to the team. The role includes responsibility for the accurate and timely processing of prescription requests for the entitled population, liaising effectively with all relevant personnel. Duties include, but are not limited to, the processing of repeat prescriptions in both electronic and hard copy formats, including online requests, in accordance with current policies and procedures. The post-holder will also undertake reception and administrative responsibilities, including greeting and directing patients, managing and effectively using the appointment system, booking appointments, assisting patients with enquiries, supporting patient registrations, and processing information in both electronic and hard copy formats in a timely and accurate manner. In addition, the post-holder will act as a central point of contact for patients and staff, supporting the distribution of information, messages, and enquiries for the clinical team. The role requires effective liaison with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies, including secondary care and community service providers. The post-holder will support the wider team in ensuring the strategic objectives of the organisation are met and will provide administrative support as required in line with the needs of the organisation.
